Historical Tales
It seems history is often boiled down to an account of what battles occurred, when they occurred, and who won. There is so much more to history! For instance, it’s enlightening to know what people wore and which foods they ate. The attitudes of the era help us see why people did some things that today seem counterintuitive. Goods and services of each time period often differ vastly from today, and it’s fun to learn about the various tools, implements, and services which are now obsolete.
Mz. Grundy tells the stories with enthusiasm and style, helping today’s generation understand better the people who preceded us. It really changes one’s perspective to know that a journey of four hundred miles that once took three weeks can be completed today in only a few hours! While horses today appear picturesque and quaint, the stench from their poop piles was a constant irritant on streets in the past, and knowing that really helps us really appreciate today’s relatively odor-free streets.
Just as eye-witness accounts clarify what happened in situations, an account from Mz. Grundy gives perspective as though you are really there. So, come learn from the master storyteller!
