Great Americans of the 19th Century

Our United States have a vast and sometimes amazing history. Many people were instrumental in shaping the country we love today, and Mz. Grundy tells their stories in her own inimitable way. Often, the people whose actions determined the direction of the nation had no idea their actions were going to be so pivotal. They were simply people of great character, doing their best to serve in the areas where they lived or worked. When we examine their lives, we often learn that these folks pursued their dreams without realizing that in so doing, they were changing the world!

We also learn from Mz. Grundy’s tales that even the best of people have flaws. The beauty of learning history is that we can avoid the pitfalls others have fallen into by hearing their stories and heeding the lessons they learned. We can celebrate the good they did without having to discard their stories just because they showed poor judgment at times.
